Our goal as a family is to visit every baseball stadium! Being so close to the west coast now we are surrounded by tons of awesome baseball parks! We decided to make a quick trip out to San Francisco, California to watch the San Francisco Giants! We only had 48 Hours in San Francisco with kids and let me tell you, 48 just isn’t enough! But if that’s all you have here’s some quick tips and top places to visit while you are there!
Day One:
I knew I wanted to try out the local eateries. Our first stop was Tony’s Pizza Napoletana. Tony’s has a sit down restaurant and the wait was around 45 minutes. With the twins we decided waiting that long wasn’t going to work and we ordered a pizza to go (which was way quicker) we only had to wait about 10 minutes! We are kind of boring and only like to try pepperoni but it was the best pepperoni pizza I’ve ever had! We took our pizza to a park across the street and the boys got to swing while we ate.
Washington Square Park was so cool! I loved that you could enjoy the busy city scenery around it! It was actually one of the highlights of our trip watching them play here!
Our next stop was going to be Fishermans Wharf, but there was no parking. We drove around for so long! We actually ran into the curvy famous Lombard street on the way and decided we should take the extra time to drive down it! It wasn’t in our original plans to visit it because theres so many attractions and we had a strict timeline to try and fit everything in SF but I’m glad we ran into it, it was really neat! San Francisco reminds of the princess diaries and the whole time I felt like I needed to be driving around in her blue convertible. Next stop: The Painted Ladies! “Everywhere you look..” Okay, I’ll quit. Haha. At this point we’d been driving around for awhile and the boys were fast asleep in the car so I figured it was best for them and us to let them sleep. I left Adam with the boys in the car while I jumped out and grabbed a few pictures.
This blue house though. I want to live in it! I love how colorful this city is!
Walking on the sidewalk of the Painted Ladies wasn’t busy at all! I’m glad I didn’t just stop at the park across the street to just take pictures.
Some of the streets in San Francisco are literally STRAIGHT UP. I got so nervous a few times I swore our jeep was going to topple backwards. You can’t visit San Francisco without going across the famous Golden Gate Bridge. My husband read a lot about the history of the bridge and we were pretty fascinated by it! Here’s 20 awesome facts about the golden gate bridge. It’s definitely worth the read!
The left picture is my favorite I took of the bridge! Definitely framing this in our home!
I love that you can see the city in this one! So beautiful!
Day Two:
Memorial Day 2017- The whole reason we came to San Francisco was to go to the baseball game and holy cow! AT&T Park is one of my FAVORITES. It’s the most beautiful ball park I’ve seen so far. This was also the game where there was the big fight with Bryce Harper from the Washington Nationals.
Before we walked in I wanted to get a few pictures in front of the stadium and while I was taking pictures the guys filming for ESPN just jumped right in front of me. I mean twins waving the American flag on Memorial Day is ridiculously cute so I don’t blame them. Beau was loving all the attention! Waving and smiling. Their favorite part was definitely the bubbles! They kept say “bubbas, bubbas”, they’re so adorable I can’t take it.I mean look at this stadium. Incredible.
The game was mid day and clouds would come and go. One minute the sky would be clear and blue and the next grey and covered in clouds.
This was the closest we got to the famous Ghirardelli chocolate factory. Ghirardelli factory is by Fishermans Wharf and we didn’t get the chance to get there because the parking was so bad. So we had to splurge on some chocolate here. We spent $10 on one fudge sundae but let me tell you it was worth it. I still think about that ice cream! Haha
Polaroid cameras might be my new favorite thing ever. I also didn’t bring a jacket to the game other than my jean jacket, whoops. I looked like a denim Britney Spears dream. All denim everything.
Before the game we waited in line to indulge in Mr. Holmes bakehouse. The cookies were amazing and worth the wait.
Last on the agenda: The boys were still asleep in the car when we went to the Golden Gate Bridge the first time so after the game we changed clothes and went to a beach near the bridge. This is one of my favorite spots. I loved view of the ocean and the bridge, it was breathtaking. I’ll never forget walking on the beach with my family, golden memories. Didn’t plan on working out in San Francisco but the steps to get back up to the car are steep and hard! My legs were so sore, but so worth it. Helped me burn off all the calories Mr. Holmes pastries. 😉
San Francisco views are incredible and we’ll never forget this beautiful city!
